The Assam government will soon undertake a facility-evaluation exercise for all the hospitals in the state. The exercise will be done on the line of 'Gunoutsav', a recently introduced State Government's initiative to evaluate the quality of education in schools, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma said in the state legislative assembly here today. Replying to a question by Rabiram Narzary of BPF during Question Hour, Sharma said the evaluation exercise for hospitals will begin from January next year and it will grade the existing facilities available, including the manpower strength, vacancies and ambulance facilities among others. Once the facility survey is done, a road map will be created to address the issues so that the quality of health care facilities could be improved. Responding to other questions, the Minister said 1497 new posts have been created for the all the model hospitals in the State in July this year. He further stated that there is a requirement of 3210 posts in 55 riverine hospitals and 155 public health centers in the State.  – Web India
