3 New Panels to Implement Health Mission

The Governor’s administration has ordered constitution of three committees to implement the centrally sponsored health mission in the state, an order said. The administration has ordered the State Health Agency, Executive Committee and District Implementation Unit for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission, in the region. According to an order issued by the general administration department, the State Health Agency Governing Council shall have the Chief Secretary as the ex officio chairpersons while the Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, will be the ex officio vice-chairperson.

The key functions relating to delivery of services under the mission shall be performed through data sharing, verification/validation of families and members, awareness generation and monitoring. According to the order, the District Implementation Unit will have the Deputy Commissioner as the chairman and the Chief Medical Officer as the vice-chairman. The order reads that the unit shall support the implementation of the scheme in every district. “Under the scheme, a District Implementation Unit shall be chaired by the Deputy Commissioner or District Magistrate of the district. They shall coordinate with the support agency and the network hospitals to ensure effective implementation of the mission,” the order said. – Tribune India
