63 Ventilators To Be Procured For Hospitals Run By State HC

NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed Delhi high court that procurement of 63 ventilators in state government hospitals was in the pipeline.

This number pertains to 15 hospitals in the national capital, whereas response from 12 other government hospitals was still awaited. The information came as the status report to a HC direction in July, this year.

The case was filed by advocate Ashok Aggarwal after he had highlighted the medical condition of a boy and his need for a ventilator. “The timeline of procurement is reported to be completed within a period of six months in various hospitals. The repair work of 10 ventilators is reported to be completed within two-three weeks in the 15 hospitals,” the report said.

Aggarwal, however, said that the no ventilator bed has been added in any of the 33 Delhi government hospitals despite the HC direction of February 13, 2019 to have a minimum of 10% of total beds in the hospitals.-Times Of India
