ADM inspects MGM Hospital Jamshedpur, promises better services

Following removal of Dr Arun Kumar as superintendent of MGM Medical College and Hospital, the administration has started taking steps to improve its services. In a meeting chaired by Health Minister Banna Gupta on Monday, the district’s ADM Law and Order NK Lal has been given additional charge of the hospital’s administrator. After the order related to this was issued, NK Lal reached MGM Hospital on Tuesday and took stock of the arrangements here. He took information from the Deputy Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Nakul Chaudhary.

Addressing the media on this occasion, Lal said that he has inspected the hospital and necessary directions have been given to the concerned officials to improve the hospital. Instructions have been given to organize the attendance register, diet chart, data related to Ayushman card etc. Along with this, necessary guidelines have also been given regarding cleanliness in the hospital premises. He said that its report will be sent to the Health Department. There is scope for improvement, improvement will be done so that patients and their families do not face any kind of problem. However, this is not the first time that efforts are being made to improve the condition of MGM Hospital. In the past, many claims have been made and efforts have been made, but there has been no significant improvement in the condition of MGM Hospital.

” We are giving much focus on cleanliness and hygiene. The entire campus of the hospital will see a cleanliness drive, the damaged boundary walls would be repaired and efforts would be made to strengthen the emergency unit of the hospital, ” he said.

According to him, all steps would be taken for fulfilling the requirements of the Medical Council of India both at the hospital and the government medical college in Dimna.

In a move to improve the health scenario in the district, Health Minister Banna Gupta is on a meeting spree these days. The minister assured the officials that he would take steps to ensure that the shortcomings at the hospital are fulfilled. He said that he would regularly visit MGM Hospital and take care of improvement initiatives. Gupta apprised the officials about the state government’s work plans, vision, its expectations from bureaucrats and other officials and priorities set by the government in different areas of public service.

MGM Medical College and Hospital is a government hospital with a facility of 540 beds. Everyday around 1000 patients come here for treatment. It may be mentioned that the State Government governed Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital, is an Indian medical school established in 1964.
