APPH&NHA seeks single window clearance for setting up new hospitals
The Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association, at its tenth state conference held here on Sunday, has resolved to demand the state government introduce single window permissions for the starting of private hospitals and nursing homes dispensing with the present system of multiple permissions.
Dr Kalyana Chakravarthy Trust Hospitals MD, who was elected as the state president of the association, told media persons, along with AV Subbareddy, that for the next year, one MLC should be elected from the medical profession so that the problems confronting the doctors could be effectively voiced for their redressal. They also wanted that the system of a five-year tax and permissions for the disposal of the bio-waste emanating from the hospitals daily be dispensed with.
Hospitals should be treated as service institutions but not collect fees from them in the name of a trade license. Collecting such fees despite obtaining stay orders from the court is improper and illegal, they said.
Indian Medical Association state president J. C. Naidu, past president Dr P. V. Madhusudana Rao., general secretary Dr P. Srinivas, and doctors Ch. Padmavati, Atthaluri Satyavati, Chitla Kiran, Adinarayana, VS Prasad, Balakrishna, and Suryanarayana were among those who attended.
Earlier, the conference was inaugurated by Dr Babji, vice chancellor of YSR Medical University. United News of India
