Basaveshwara Hospital Installs Advanced ENT Machinery

Basaveshwara Teaching and General Hospital attached to M.R. Medical College has upgraded its ENT department by installing the latest version of advanced machinery such as Impedance Audiometry and Brain-stem Evoked Response Audiometry and setting up speech therapy and voice analysis lab, endoscopy room and ENT outpatient department with modern equipment. M.Y. Patil, MLA, inaugurated the upgraded facilities on Tuesday. Bhimashankar C. Bilgundi, president of Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society, called upon people of to make use of the advanced equipment at affordable costs. “These equipment are not available at any hospital in Hyderabad Karnataka region. People with serious ENT issues can avail the services in Basaveshwara hospital that continues to be committed to offering best services at lowest possible costs,” Bilgundi told media persons.

The experts in the ENT department said the installation of Impedance Audiometry and Brain-stem Evoked Response Audiometry that had revolutionised the diagnosis and treatment of deafness was a milestone. C.B. Nandyal, HoD of ENT department, said that BERA had the ability to detect and diagnose hearing disorders and deafness in newborns immediately after birth. Nandyal said that poor awareness among people on the necessity of deafness screening in children would lead to increased number of deaf and mute individuals. – The Hindu
