Cadila Pharma inks pact with Norwegian start-up to develop new treatment for heart patients

Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has signed an agreement with Norway-based Inven2’s start-up, SERCA Pharmaceuticals, to develop a new treatment for heart patients. The new drug is based on an invention by Professor Kjetil Taskén and co-workers at the University of Oslo and the Oslo University Hospital. Serca’s drug is aiming to help patients from developing secondary damage from cardiac disease, which is an unmet medical need. SERCA Pharmaceuticals will develop a drug treatment for injuries that occur when treating myocardial infarction.
