Cantt Civil Hospital to be 200-Bedded Facility

The Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, will be upgraded to a 200-bedded hospital, for which an administrative approval for the construction of an additional block has been given by the government. It will be constructed at Rs 77.44 crore. State Health Minister Anil Vij on Saturday performed the bhumi pujan for the construction of the additional block. Speaking on this occasion, the minister said, “The local Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment used to be in a poor condition during the previous regime. The footfall at the hospital used to be 150 per day but now it has all modern healthcare facilities and the number of patients per day has swelled to 2,500. A 50-bedded tertiary care cancer center is also being established. After the construction of the building, the hospital will have 250 beds.” The new block will be a five-storeyed building. Later, the minister also laid the foundation stone of the sewerage work at Boh village. It will cost around Rs 66 crore. – Tribune India
