CM Tamang inaugurates health facilities at state hospital

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang inaugurated the Sangay Menla statue and other health facilities such as Centre of Excellence Department of Paediatric, Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), and Tele Consultation Hub at STNM Hospital on Tuesday. Thereafter, the Chief Minister chaired the State Health Mission Meeting held at Auditorium Hall, STNM.

The Chief Minister in his speech suggested the health department to come up with a solution to curb the situation prevailing out of the drug abuse and suicidal cases and also requested the society to join hands with the government to come up with solutions.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister launched the official website of Sikkim Establishment Cell. He also felicitated the awardees who were able to have remarkable achievement in various fields-

State TB Division for best performing State in TB Index below 50 lakh Population also Bronze Medal in Sub-National Certification.

‘Scroll of Honor’ was presented to the Turuk HWC-SHC team on the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day on 12th December 2021 at New Delhi for their exemplary contribution for strengthening delivery of Comprehensive Primary Health Care Services through Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Center for the year 2020-21.

Kayakalp Award is the National Quality Assurance Programme launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI. The objective of this Kayakalp is to promote cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices in public healthcare facilities.

Sikkim being a small state, having less than ten districts, is eligible for commendation award to district hospitals, best and commendation award to CHCs, best and commendation award to PHCs and Health & Wellness Centres (SHCs) from each district. One CHC is eligible for best Kayakalp award of Rs.15L, one PHC from each district is eligible for the best Kayakalp award of Rs. 2L and one HWC-SHC from each district is eligible for best Kayakalp award of Rs. 1L.

On account of outstanding performance by the health institutions of various places they were awarded at national level and were felicitated by the Chief Minister. CHC Jorethang, PHC Machong, PHC Dentam, PHC Dikchu, PHC Yangyang, Nandugaon HWC, Karjee HWC were in the category of Best Kayakalp Award. APN News
