Following a surge in infections in rural areas, the district administration has decided to reopen the Covid jumbo hospital in Avsari Khurd village in Ambegaon tehsil by next week. The hospital, which has two buildings, has the maximum capacity of 288 beds.On Friday, Dr. Ambadas Deomane, the head of the Manchar sub-district health department, told us, We will begin with 24 ICU and 120 oxygen-equipped beds.We are not reopening the other 144-bed facility at this stage because the hospitalization of Covid-positive patients is now under surveillance. The new cases are mainly from the Khed, Shirur, Ambegao, and Junnar tehsils.

Only 12 of them were admitted to hospital and their medical conditions were better.Although positive reports are on the rise in rural Pune, the situation is still under surveillance.According to Deomane, the number of critical patients in Ambegaon and the adjacent tehsils is still under surveillance.According to the official, the jumbo hospital had to close due to a lack of Covid patients in August.
