Getting treatment in Delhi private hospitals will now be more feasible for patients across Delhi as Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance scheme has started inviting National Accreditation Board of Hospitals (NABH) accredited hospitals in city. Following the incidence, Cygnous Sonia Hospital and Shroff eye care hospital have now been empanelled with the AB-PMJAY and many more are planning to step in to treat poor patients from across India. An email invitation from AB-PMJAY has been circulated among the non-government hospitals in the national Capital, which are accredited with NABH. “Empanelling all the private hospitals, including the central government hospitals, will enable patients from across the country to avail the cashless treatment,” official said. Delhi gets more patients from other states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, which will get the quality services and better healthcare outcome for the patients.

Moreover, official also said that patients coming from different states to the private hospitals in Delhi, will get treatment under this program but entire insurance reimbursement will be borne by the respective state governments. He further added that patients from other states account for 30-40 percent of patients treated in prominent Delhi hospitals. Meanwhile, it will also raise the turnover of the private hospitals in Delhi. Delhi-NCR has 139 hospitals with more than 100 beds each accredited with the NABH hospitals including BLK hospital, Rockland Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Max Hospital, Batra Hospital, Kailash Hospital, Saroj Hospital, Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute, Balaji Action Cancer Hospital, Holy Heart Hospital and Moolchand hospital and many-more are getting invitation.

The email circulated among the private hospitals have an attached registration panel link including the contact details of the officer associated with the Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme. Ayushman Bharat offers cashless cover of up to Rs five lakh for hospitalisation to 100 million poor and vulnerable families for 1354 treatment packages. However, Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party government has refused to be a part of the scheme, saying it would not cover enough people and that the state would work towards implementing its own health insurance instead. – Millennium Post
