eHealth For All Govt. Hospitals In Capital

All hospital processes made paperless, hassle-free under scheme

The Health Department is in the process of extending eHealth project to all government-run health-care institutions in the district, Health Minister K.K. Shylaja has said.

She was inaugurating a training programme here on Thursday for hospital administrators and medical officers in the district in eHealth implementation.

Ms. Shylaja said that Kerala was the only State which had succeeded in preparing an electronic demographic database and disease surveillance data, which was helping the State in health planning and implementation.

Already, the demographic database of 2.5 crore people in rural areas had been prepared and the work was ongoing.

At present, eHealth had been successfully implemented in 29 institutions in Thiruvananthapuram and the remaining 83 would join in soon.

eHealth had helped in making all hospital processes, right from outpatient registration and clinical examination up till the discharge of the patient, paperless and hassle-free, offering an entirely new experience for patients, the Health Minister said.

Principal Secretary (Health) Rajan Khobragade; NHM State Mission Director Kesavendra Kumar; Director of Health Services R.L. Saritha; Special Officer Ajayakumar; and senior eHealth officials were present at the training programme. – The Hindu
