Elite Motorized Digital C-arm-Kiran Medical Systems

With the continued growth in minimally invasive surgeries, the need for a smarter, more intuitive medical imaging system has become pivotal. As a next step in surgical imaging, Kiran Medical Systems, the radiology division of Trivitron Healthcare, has launched Elite – a digital C-Arm with completely motorized movements, which is an innovative and intuitive imaging system that is quintessential for a hybrid OR.

Kiran Elite C-Arm is equipped with flat-panel detector-based technology that provides uncompromised image quality with improved dose control. Designed for applications in orthopedics, urology, cardiovascular, gastro, and neuro surgery, Kiran Elite flat panel C-Arm offers a wide range of clinical applications, including digital subtraction angiography for vascular applications and road mapping to assist surgeons in finding the correct path to reach target locations during surgery.

With a 21×21 cm flat-panel detector and 16-bit image processing, it offers high-resolution digital image acquisition. It also uses a 5 Kw, 40 kHz X-ray generator with ABS for optimized dose to capture images with higher grayscale resolution that can highlight minute details. Dual 19-inch high-resolution monitors display gives an extended edge-to-edge view. The motorized C movements help in easy and accurate positioning through soft-touch buttons that in-turn saves valuable time and improves efficiency as the need for instructing the technicians during surgery is reduced.

The Elite system enhances the overall workflow in the surgery room with SmartTouch, a smart touch-screen-based user interface that allows the surgeon to access the handy selection tab menu and the acquired images without stepping out of the sterile field.

Elite is integrated with a technology pioneered by Kiran called Super Harmonic Controlled Frequency generator, through which X-rays automatically vary from 40 to 80 kHz depending on the line and dose requirement
