Flat Panel Digital C-Arm Series from Trivitron Healthcare

Adopting new and updated technology offers numerous advantages in medical practice, and an effective means of providing patients with quality care and treatment. In hospitals and emergency centers, the evolution of technology is of utmost importance. The presence of cutting-edge technology, such as digital flat panel-based (FPD) C-arms, is one of the most important determinants of technological evolution. Since its introduction in 1955, C-arm technology has undergone continuous development, with the most recent technological trend being the migration from image intensifier-based, i.e., analog technology to flat panel detector-based digital technology.

Digital flat panel-based C-arms provide patients with improved, safer, and more accurate results.

Advantages of switching to FPD C-arms
Dose of radiation is crucial to patient safety. Flat panel detectors and image intensifiers have different radiation dose parameters. Every medical imaging test is intended to produce optimal results while exposing the patient to the least amount of radiation possible. The FPD technology emits less radiation than traditional image-intensifier technology. If the image intensifier unit’s magnification mode is increased to Zoom 3 level, the radiation dose must be increased by 5 terms, compared to the normal field mode. The same magnification on a flat panel will result in a smaller radiation frontage.

Magnification modes. In an FPD, magnification has zero effect on scale. In an image intensifier, the field of view is diminished with each step of magnification in order to achieve a more detailed image.

Concise and space-saving. An FPD C-arm is space-saving, therefore, more compact than an image intensifier. They take up less space in the operating room, allowing more room for the medical team, and enable the healthcare professional to maintain precise control when handling complex cases requiring precise movements and measurements.

Superior image resolution and image quality. The image resolution of the FPD is superior to that of the image intensifier. They produce high-quality, clear images that are free of geometrical distortion and have a higher grayscale resolution, allowing precise visibility of various anatomical structures. It is important to note that resolution varies from model to model, but FPD C-arms are capable of producing more consistent, high-quality digital images overall.

Advanced and upgraded image intensifiers have been on the market for over 50 years, but their technical foundation is becoming obsolete. A flat panel detector is the most recent and advanced technology for improved results.

Elite/Infinity flat panel digital C-arms
Flat panel-based digital C-arms by Trivitron Healthcare provide exceptional performance and high-precision imaging. An innovative and user-friendly surgical C-arm system significantly improves surgical techniques’ precision and throughput, as well as their imaging precision and quality. Intraoperative imaging applications in orthopedics, trauma surgery, urology, pain management, and peripheral vascular surgery are supported with this range of advanced C-arms.

Trivitron Infinity series digital C-arms comes with a 3.5 kW stationary anode and the Elite series with a 5 kW rotating anode configuration. These C-arms feature sophisticated software with digital subtraction angiography and road-mapping capabilities, as well as dual panel or wide screen single-panel display with touch options. Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) is utilized in vascular diagnostics. It is highly effective for locating blockages or aneurysms in arteries or veins. They are also equipped with low-dose fluoroscopy mode, made possible by flat panel detector technology, making it ideal for a hybrid operating room. It is integrated with tools, such as PACS and HIS RIS to improve data accessibility.
