Fortis Malar Hospitals names Suvalaxmi Chakraborty as independent director

Fortis Malar Hospitals Limited informed that post decision of Ravi Rajagopal, Independent Director, to step down from the Board of the Company with effect from close of business hours on September 30, 2024, the Board of Directors of the Company have appointed Suvalaxmi Chakraborty as an Independent Director (Additional) on the Board of Fortis Malar Hospital Limited with effect from October 1, 2024, subject to relevant corporate approvals. The company further mentioned that Suvalaxmi Chakraborty is also appointed as the Chairperson of the Audit & Risk Management Committee and the Member of Nomination & Remuneration Committee with effect from October 1, 2024. Suvalaxmi Chakraborty is appointed as an Independent Director of the Company.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Calcutta. She is a qualified chartered accountant. Previously, she worked with ICICI Bank Limited, Barclays Bank Plc.

and State Bank of Mauritius Limited. She also serves as a director on the board of various companies including Fortis Healthcare Limited, Espandere Advisors Private Limited, Agilus Diagnostics Limited, Kaleidofin Private Limited and Finreach Solutions Private Limited as the Managing Director.
