Foundation stone laid for Rs 250 crore hospital in Karnataka’s Halanki

In the tranquil environs of Halanki village, nestled amidst the verdant landscapes of Honnavar taluk, a momentous occasion unfolded on Friday, heralding a significant leap forward in addressing Uttara Kannada’s healthcare needs. The stone-laying ceremony for a new super-speciality hospital marked the dawn of a new era in healthcare accessibility and provision in the region.

With a collaborative effort between Shree Veeranjaneeya Mahasamsthanam and Sudeeksha Health Care Private Limited, the hospital stands as a testament to the collective dedication, backed by an initial investment of Rs 250 crore. This endeavour signifies not just the construction of a medical facility but a beacon of hope for the community, promising healing and solace to those in need.

Speaking to reporters post-ceremony, the spiritual luminary of Sri Kshetra Bangarmakki, Maruti Guru ji, unveiled the hospital’s ambitious timeline, aiming to complete construction within 18 months. Operations are slated to commence in a phased manner within the next three months, ensuring swift access to essential medical services.

Maruti Guru ji underscored the hospital’s commitment to leveraging state-of-the-art medical technology sourced from renowned international hubs like Germany. Moreover, the staffing of the facility with seasoned professionals native to Uttara Kannada further solidifies its roots within the community, ensuring personalised and compassionate care for patients.

A distinctive feature of the project is the introduction of an Air Ambulance service, strategically devised to overcome the geographical challenges plaguing the region. This innovative addition aims to provide swift and efficient emergency medical assistance, addressing the longstanding issue of residents enduring arduous journeys for critical care.

Dr Subramanyam Sharma, the scion of former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and founder-CMD of Sudeeksha Super Speciality Hospital, shed light on India’s burgeoning medical tourism potential. With India emerging as a global healthcare destination, Uttara Kannada stands poised as an ideal hub, offering quality medical care at a fraction of the cost compared to Western counterparts.

Dr Sharma extolled the region’s scenic allure, emphasising its therapeutic ambience complemented by cost-effective medical treatment. This synergy between natural beauty and advanced healthcare infrastructure positions Uttara Kannada as a holistic healing destination, appealing to both domestic and international visitors.

With a focus on bridging the existing healthcare gap, the Sudeeksha Super Speciality Hospital aims to cater not only to the local populace but also to pilgrims visiting the revered religious site of Shree Kshetra Bangaramakki from across the nation. Dr Sharma articulated the hospital’s vision of transforming healthcare services in Uttara Kannada, ensuring residents no longer need to seek treatment elsewhere for serious health concerns.

As the foundation stone is laid, it marks the inception of a transformative journey in healthcare for Uttara Kannada. Promising enhanced accessibility and quality of medical services, the hospital stands as a testament to unwavering commitment and serves as a beacon of hope for the region’s health and well-being.
