Government General Hospital Wards to be Monitored by District Level Officers: Collector

As a part of the exercise to improve the medical services in the government general hospital, each ward will hereafter be monitored by district level officers. Disclosing this to media persons after intensive inspection of various wards in the GGH on Friday, Collector and Chairman of the Hospital Development Society Kartikeya Mishra said that the officers as the ward in charges would procure the medical infrastructure required and take steps to extend better medical services to the patients. During his inspection of various wards for over two hours, Mr Mishra said that he had interacted with Heads of each department and verified the services being extended and observed that many of them were doing well while some others need intervention.

He said the Joint collector was asked to prepare a comprehensive report on the hospital requirements for initiating further action. Since beds shortage is felt, the Collector said, he had asked the Hospital Superintendent to use the available beds in Psychiatry wing to the gynecology and pediatric wards. “Multi-level parking system would be provided in the hospital under the Kakinada smart city program. Better results could be expected in-hospital functioning within one-and-half months,” he added. – Medical Dialogues
