Gujarat Has Most WHO-GMP Plants In India

To tap huge potential in the pharma export market, more and more Gujarati entrepreneurs are now getting their manufacturing plants approved in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) norms.

At 684, Gujarat houses the highest number of WHO-GMP certified plants in the country, shows the latest data compiled by Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), which operates under Union ministry of health and family welfare. The state accounted for 34% of the total 2,006 such units in India as on May 2019. – TOI
