SDM Narayana Heart Center Launches Health Card

SDM Narayana Heart Center (SDMNHC), which is having its decennial celebrations, launched its health cards for the benefit of patients here on Wednesday. Director of SDMNHC Shashikumar Pattanashetti told presspersons here on Wednesday that “My NH Privilege Card’ would offer patrons cashless services across all Narayana Health Hospitals in the country. Patients could recharge their cards entitling them to priority services in the out-patient department (OPD), medical investigation and in-patient treatment on all working days in addition to the discounts offered on services. Dr Shashikumar said that the card would be offered in different categories for various services to singles, couples, their parents and children aged less than 18. The cardholders would be entitled to free health check-up and also discounts on various services, he said.

2500 heart surgeries

In its 10th year of its establishment, SDMCNHC has performed 2500 heart surgeries and over 10,000 angiograms and angioplasties, chief cardiac surgeon Shanmukh Hiremath said. Stress and strain had become the order of the day as people caught in the daily struggle were neglecting their health and were approaching hospitals in advanced stages of heart ailments. Regular checks and healthy food habits and exercises were required to prevent heart-related problems, he said. – The Hindu
