Immunoshop enters the hematology market

Immunoshop, which has focused on the immunoassay segment in the Indian IVD market for the past 18 years, has an extensive product portfolio with strong brand recognition in this segment. With long-time success in customer acceptance for quality and service in immunoassay, Immunoshop ventured its presence into other product segments within the IVD market. After entering POCT, nephelometry, and HPLC, Immunoshop now plans to enter the hematology market in a big way.

Hematology as a segment of the IVD market
Hematology forms an integral part of diagnostics, since it provides insight into the blood and related
disorders. 3-part and 5-part hematology currently form the core of the hematological diagnosis, as all routine hematological testing is done within these segments. Over the coming years, innovations in areas of genetic disorders, disorders of bleeding, research in stem cell, pharmacogenomics, and others, are expected to grow hematology further.

Hematology is a high volume, hyper-competitive segment. Technological upgrades drive market growth as customers upgrade to higher-end systems over time.

Many players in recent times, for example, have come with varied technological advances like integrated flow cytometry and blood staining capacities. More advances in analyzers have also been made with various reportable and research use parameters. Another factor within the hematology market is the replacement cycle, wherein customers replace the old system with the new system every 5-7 years, which ensures that hematology keeps growing at a high CAGR over the next few years.

Immunoshop stepping into hematology segment
Immunoshop now ventures into the hematology segment with an established network, support team, and customer access in place. Entering the market with 3-part and 5-part hematology analyzers with more technologies in the pipeline yet to launch, Immunoshop is following its goal to completely cover the technological landscape in IVD testing, using a new umbrella brand for all non Immunoassay technologies with the following brand name- LifeDX.

Currently, Immunoshop has two products in its hematology catalogue, those being the Edan H50 and the LifeDX H3Pro.

The Edan H50 is a German technology-based 5-part hematology analyzer. This instrument offers many unique features like a compact design, use of only three reagents, improved WBC and platelet differentiation, and detailed flag information. All of this helps provide a great upgrade for a customer.

The LifeDx H3Pro, a 3-part hematology analyzer, stands out amongst its peers due to its high throughput of 70 tests/hour. This, alongside the double channel technology used, a big touchscreen, detailed flag information for diagnosis, and lower breakdown rates, helps improve customer workflow in hematology.

The road ahead
For Immunoshop, the launch of 3-part and 5-part instruments is the first step in entering the hematology market. After gaining market insights, the plan is to expand the product portfolio and enter the high end segment in hematology, including microfluidics, digital imaging, and much more.
