Indian Red Cross Society to Spread its Services

There is an imperative need for increasing the number of blood banks run by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Telangana Chapter of Indian Red Cross Society chairman BV Papa Rao said, speaking at the State managing committee meeting. “Compared to the requirement, the existing seven blood banks run by the IRCS are inadequate and it needs to be addressed. Warangal Chapter IRCS is doing exceptionally well as far as blood bank services are concerned,” Rao said. After the meeting, the members elected former advocate general Desai Prakash Reddy as the new chairman of Telangana Chapter IRCS unanimously. Speaking on the occasion, Prakash Reddy said that he would strive hard for strengthening the IRCS with impetus on serving the distressed sections.

“We will try to get national level importance with the support of outgoing chairman Papa Rao,” he said. Warangal Chapter IRCS chairman P Vijaychander Reddy detailed the programs conducted in his region through power point presentation. Later, the IRCS managing committee met the Governor ESL Narasimhan. The Governor told the committee to bring accolades to Telangana at the national level. IRCS State vice-chairman Harpreeth Singh, general secretary K Madanmohan Rao, administrative officer G Koti Reddy and State managing committee member EV Srinivas Rao were among others present. – The Hans India
