Inscopix announces co-marketing deal with Noldus

US-based neuroscience firm Inscopix has launched its new multimodal behavioural technology, known as the nVision Platform.

The nVision Platform allows for single-step synchronisation between in vivo neural circuit imaging data from the company’s miniscope-based platforms and animal behaviour video recordings.

Additionally, Inscopix announced its co-marketing agreement with behavioural research tools innovator Noldus Information Technology.

The nVision Platform allows the simultaneous capturing of high-quality behaviour and calcium imaging movies in a single session.

According to the firm, the platform can integrate behaviour with miniscope imaging in real-time.

Researchers can now undertake accurate time correlations between brain and behaviour functions like exploration, navigation, and decision-making tasks.

When released, nVision will be the only integrated technology for the two approaches used in free behaviour, giving researchers new, synchronised insights into the health and dysfunction of the brain.

The agreement with Noldus will help the researchers to add Noldus’ EthoVision XT video tracking software into the nVision workflow.

The user-friendly Noldus interface can follow and analyse the behaviour, movement, and activity of the animal being researched by just plugging in the behaviour video.

Inscopix CEO Kunal Ghosh said: “We have been working in the background for a long time now to provide our miniscope users with an effortless and accurate way to synchronize their valuable miniscope data with third party-acquired behavioural movies, which is technically laborious to do and prone to data loss.

“We’re thrilled to be introducing nVision, which is the first and only platform enabling both high-resolution acquisition of behavioural videos and precise synchronisation with calcium imaging data.”

Noldus Information Technology CEO Lucas Noldus said: “Uncovering brain dysfunction at the neurocircuitry level and how it is linked to behaviour will enable researchers to uncover new insights into how the brain works and for the development of better-targeted treatments.

“We are excited to collaborate with Inscopix and offer users the capability of integrating our pioneering video tracking technology with Inscopix’s latest platform.” NS Medical Devices
