A delegation of the National University of Sudan visited KIMS and NIMS Hospitals to explore clinical exchange programs between them and the University of Sudan. The Faculty of Medicine, National University of Sudan, based in Khartoum, strives towards developing the highest standards of academic and clinical excellence. The University believes in networking with lead institutions across countries to reach the frontiers of best practice. With this intention, the University delegation visited KIMS and NIMS in Kerala. KIMS is one of the largest corporate hospital chains in India with 1625 beds across six hospitals and has a strong presence in GCC region with hospitals in Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The University’s collaboration with KIMS will focus largely on treating Sudanese patients and will also explore clinical exchange program between them, including automation of clinical documentation. NIMS Medicity, owned and administered by Noorul Islam Educational Trust, has been serving the public in the field of higher education in Kerala and Tamil Nadu for the past 63 years. The current collaboration between the National University of Sudan and NIMS will facilitate cooperation in the exchange of information relating to their activities in higher education and research in fields of biomedical engineering, nanotechnology and human genetics and molecular biology and training and technology transfer in establishing human genetics laboratory, with special emphasis on domains such as microbial genomics, functional genomics, pharmacogenomics, cancer genomics and agricultural genomics. – New Indian Express
