Land Sourcing for Ayush Hospital Under Way

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the 50-bed Ayush hospital, proposed to be built at the old TB Hospital at Monte Hill in Margao, is in the final stages of completion, while the process to acquire land for the Ayush hospital at North Goa from the comunidade is under way. A senior official said they expect to complete the land acquisition process for the hospital at Velge in Sattari taluka in at the earliest. In South Goa, the government had planned initially planned to set up the Ayush hospital at the leprosy hospital in Macazana, Curtorim. The North and South Goa hospital projects under Ayush will cost Rs 15 crore each and will be executed through Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation, the officer said. Despite being located in rural areas, there shouldn’t be any apprehensions about the response the Ayush hospital will receive, the officer said, adding that the response received by homeopathy and Ayurveda practitioners, appointed at various government health centers has been impressive. As many as four projects were sanctioned under the Ayush Mission of the central government soon after North Goa MP Shripad Naik was appointed Ayush minister.
