Mica AI Medical raises $3M in funding

Mica AI Medical, an Israeli provider of technology for early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer on contrast enhanced mammogram studies, raised $3M in funding.

The round was led by Haim Chizic, Tzachi Arabov, Daniel Koss, BNP VC, Israeli Innovation Authority and the Ministry of Economy.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand its development efforts.

Led by CEO Lior Wayn, Mica AI Medical provides a system that aides radiologists to detect breast malignancies while interpreting contrast enhanced mammograms. Additionally, the system has the capacity to reduce overdiagnosis, which may lead to unnecessary biopsiespainful invasive biopsies. It was developed, tested and validated in collaboration with Sheba Hospital, and is currently being implemented at that hospital.

The chairman of the company is Jacob Perry, the former Israeli Minister of Science, Technology and Space. FinSMEs
