MOBIS India Foundation launches mobile medical units in TN

MOBIS India Foundation has launched four mobile medical units to take healthcare and medical support, free of cost, to the doorstep residents of remote and rural areas in Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Telangana. Through this project, mobile medical units and medical personnel are sent to conducts camps targeting 25,000 people a year

The project was launched on 18th January 2023 at the MOBIS premises at Madhapur, Telangana. This CSR project, being executed by Wockhardt Foundation, is being implemented in the Districts of Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur (Tamil Nadu), Almigirpur (Haryana) and Madhapur (Telangana).

MOBIS India Foundation, established by the multinational Auto components major MOBIS, is partnering with Wockhardt Foundation, a national, not-for-profit organization, for this initiative.

The Mobile Medical Units were flagged off by CHA JAE OH (Managing Director) along with Sangam Vinod Kumar (State Coordinator, Wockhardt Foundation) Madhapur Telangana on 18th January 2023, Park Yong Goon (Managing Director) from Almigirpur Harynana along with Denis Varghese (Director) & Dr Mohammad Shakib (State Coordinator) from Wockhardt Foundation and Ju seong Kyu, General Manager, MOBIS, from Irrungattukottai in Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu. Dr Sriram Ramdas, Medical Director, Wockhardt Foundation and Gilbert Joseph from Wockhardt Foundation were also present on the occasion along with other company officials.

Highlighting the unique aspects of this initiative, Prem Sai, Head of Human Resources, MOBIS India Ltd said, “As a part of health care, this project will provide medical support, medical referrals & awareness on health for the needy people living in remote areas, where this mobile medical facility reaches the doorstep of each selected.”

The Mobile Medical Vans will deliver primary health care according to the ‘ADCR Formula’ (A – Awareness, D –Diagnosis, C –Cure, and R-Referral) and will provide free primary health care services at the doorstep. The van is equipped with medicines and rapid test kits for diagnosis and IEC materials for health awareness. It is staffed with a registered doctor, pharmacist, a social protection officer and driver.

In the last two years, Mobis Foundation has extended several CSR projects supporting many Government schools by providing additional classrooms, toilets, benches and desks, construction of Anganwadis, Housing support for transgender people, rejuvenating ponds to save water bodies and nutritional support for pregnant women to reduce the child mortality rate.
