190 oxygen plants to be set up before third wave of COVID in MP

Oxygen plants are being set up at a rapid pace in Madhya Pradesh in view of the possible third wave of the corona. As per the recent information received, no government hospital in the state had an oxygen generation plant till March 2020 but now a total of 190 oxygen plants are being set up. According to the same reports, out of this, 68 plants have been set up and 65 plants have been operationalized so far. On the other hand, the Health Department says that all the remaining plants will be operational by the month of September.

Let me tell you all that out of the oxygen plant in Madhya Pradesh, 88 are being set up from the PM Care Fund. In addition, 89 plants are being set up from 13 Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Corporate Social Responsibility and through local efforts. Under the information received, a total of 221 MT of medical oxygen can be produced from all these plants.

With this, oxygen can be made available directly from the generation plants to the patients. Let us tell you that new oxygen plants have been virtually inaugurated in 10 hospitals of the state. At the same time, these 10 oxygen plants costing about Rs 6.5 crore have the capacity to produce 5500 LPM (liters per minute) of oxygen. It is being told that these plants have been set up at Ashta and Rehti in Sehore district, Vidisha and Sironj in Vidisha district, Khargone and Barwah in Khargone district, Khurai in Sagar district besides Katni, Tikamgarh, and Narsinghpur.
