Mumbai: CT scan and MRI to start at Mini Sion Hospital

The primary health center started by Sion Hospital in Dharavi known as mini Sion Hospital provides all the health facilities to the slum dwellers of Dharavi near their homes. Soon, CT scan and MRI facility will also be provided to the patients in this center. Therefore, patients in Dharavi will not need to go to Sion Hospital or other private centers for CT scan and MRI.

Meanwhile, the patients were suffering due to the shutdown of the CT scan and MRI systems in BMC’s KEM, Sion and Nair hospitals. But now a new CT scan and MRI system will be made available in these very hospitals.Therefore, it is expected that the patients coming for treatment in these hospitals will get better health care.

Instead of going to Sion Hospital, Dharavi residents are getting health facilities in this health center near their homes. It is getting good response from citizens as well. But this center does not have a CT scan or MRI facility. Therefore, patients have to go to Sion Hospital or a private center for CT scan or MRI test. Considering the inconvenience, the Municipal Corporation has decided to install a CT scan and MRI system at this center as well. So the patients of Dharavi will benefit from this.
