November 29 To Be Retina Day In India

Hyderabad: Starting this year, November 29 will be marked as Retina Day in India , said the Vitreo-Retinal Society of India (VRSI) on Friday.

Dr Raja Narayanan, secretary, VRSI said, “Symptoms of many retinal diseases are often misunderstood as signs of ageing and therefore ignored. Compromised vision can push AMD patients into a cycle of events that impact their quality of life.”

A dedicated Retina Day aims to bring together stakeholders from healthcare industry and policymakers to raise awareness about retinal diseases and address challenges of preventable blindness.-Times Of India
