The plant has been set up in collaboration with Coal India. With this, the oxygen requirement of about 100 patients can be met at a time. The AIIMS already has adequate arrangements for storage of liquid oxygen. It also has a contract for the supply of liquid oxygen.

“We faced oxygen crisis during second Covid wave. This is the reason, oxygen plants are being set up. As many as 110 plants have been commissioned. AIIMS had refused to increase beds because of shortage of oxygen. Now, AIIMS will get sufficient oxygen for Covid patients. Madhya Pradesh has become self-sufficient in terms of oxygen production. After installation of this plant, there will be no shortage of oxygen in AIIMS,” Sarang said. Free Press Journal
