OP Registrations Up At Govt. Hospitals

As private hospitals continued to withdraw medical services under Aarogyasri Health Scheme (AHS), patients were forced to opt government hospitals for treatment.

Usually, the number of out-patient (OP) registrations on Monday are more when compared to any other day of a week.

The number has further increased because of the situation at private hospitals.

Number of OP registrations at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) on August 5 (Monday) was 555.

And the number was 741 on August 19, which is 186 more cases. Similarly, officials at Gandhi Hospital and Osmania General Hospital said that they observed around 10% more OP registrations on Monday.

Dues

They expect that the number of cases will continue to increase until private hospitals resume the services under AHS.

Telangana Aarogyasri Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) said that they withdrew services under AHS, Employee Health Scheme (EHS) and Journalist Health Scheme (JHS) demanding dues to be cleared by the State government. While they said ₹1,350 crore is pending, officials said only ₹457 crore is due. – The Hindu
