Panchkula District to Get Two Polyclinics

To upgrade health facilities in Kalka, Pinjore and Morni, the health department is introducing two polyclinics with advance machines and multiple bed facilities at all three places of the district to facilitate medical needs to the residents. Residents at all three places have to travel a long distance to reach Panchkula civil hospital in Sector 6 to avail government medical facilities. As per the information given by Kalka MLA Latika Sharma, two polyclinics will be opened in Pinjore and Kalka. At present, only Kalka community health center caters to Pinjore and Kalka residents and only limited beds and facilities were available there. “New health machines will be brought to the polyclinics to provide better treatment to patients,” said the MLA. Apart from that, the health center in Morni will be upgraded with a x-ray machine along basic medical facility, she added. Talking to TOI Morni residents said that at present they have to travel a long distance to reach Panchkula to get basic medical facilities and it would be a much-needed relief if the health center was upgraded. The MLA said, “The reason behind this step is to provide medical facilities in rural areas.” Last year, a two-wheeler ambulance service was started for Morni residents. – TOI
