Pilot Testing of Ayushman Bharat Scheme Begins at RIMS
The online empanelment software training for the health professionals before the formal launch of the much awaited health scheme Ayushman Bharat was started here at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). The 15 days technical training session will make all health professionals aware about the know-how of insurance service coverage, varied facilities given to the families covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSC) and other technical aspects. Before the technical session, Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Ramchandra Chandravanshi along with Principal Secretary, Nidhi Khare inaugurated the information cum registration center on the premises of RIMS. Notably, the Ayushman Bharat help desk will facilitate the needs of those covered under the scheme by providing them all relevant inputs. The experts present on the occasion said that Ayushman Mitra will provide information to the beneficiaries, verify their credentials and guide them.
Addressing the health professionals during the technical session, the Minister said that attempts must be made to empanel maximum hospitals as the scheme will directly benefit those who cannot afford expensive medical facilities. Principal Secretary, Nidhi Khare said, “The scheme will provide better health services to nearly 85 percent population. Considering the footfall of patients at RIMS, the department has started the pilot testing project from the biggest State owned medical college and hospital –RIMS. All health professionals need to understand the scheme before its implementation. The medical journal – Lancet has termed it as biggest health scheme covering over 10 crore beneficiaries.”
Meanwhile, Nodal Officer, Jharkhand State Arogya Society, Divyanshu Jha during the technical session said that both private and public hospitals need to register the details of their respective hospitals at hospitals www.abnhpm.gov.in. As per the data available, around 57 lakh families of Jharkhand will benefit out of this National Health Protection Scheme. The scheme will roll out on September 25. Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme announced during Budget 2019, the facility of free health insurance up to ₹5 lakhs will be provided to 10 crore households of the country. It will cover the treatment of almost all serious ailments. – The Pioneer
