Rajasthan Government to Review Private Contracts in Health Sector

Newly formed state government will review the contract made in health services through PPP (public private mode) made by the previous BJP government. Health minister Raghu Sharma on Tuesday cleared that it is the duty of the state to provide better health and medical services to people. He asked officials of health department to review the memo of understanding (MOU) made by the last government in health sector. Sharma on Tuesday was taking the meeting of officials of health and medical department in Beawar and also inspected the Amrit Kaur government hospital. He said that it is the duty of government to provide better health services and therefore outsourcing such services to private sector is not in favor of common mass.

He directed officials that it is there duty to control swine flu as government has taken the issue seriously and therefore release medicines to every hospital. He added that things are in control and asked officials to make survey as directed by the government to provide relief to people. He also asked officials to make people aware of the schemes initiated by this government so that people could benefit from them. Later Sharma inspected the hospital and also spoke with patients. Chief medical and health officer doctor K K Soni briefed about the swine flu in district and said till now 44 positive cases have been detected. He also briefed about the survey and assured availability of medicines. Meanwhile, considering the cold waves in the region the district administration directed all schools of the district to run from 9.30 in the morning to 4 in the evening till February 2. – TOI
