Rajnandgaon Hospital to Get Life Support Ambulance

The government medical college in Rajnandgaon will soon get an advanced life support(ALS) ambulance to provide, as the name suggests, advanced level care and immediate treatment to the patients who are in critical condition. An official said, as per the instructions of Rajnandgaon collector an ALS ambulance will be purchased soon. The ambulance will have a highly equipped life support system with facilities similar to a semi-intensive care unit. The ambulance will also have advance medical equipment like ventilator, cardiac support among others. Collector Bheem Singh issued directions to officials concerned during the inspection of the hospital. He also instructed hospital administrators to ensure that senior doctors should give their opinion in cases referred to the hospital at night, and should be on-call for emergencies. The official had received complaints about some nursing staff from the patient, to which he has directed to stop a pay hike of the concerned nursing staff.

It is the responsibility of nursing staff to take care of patients, even before they ask for it, he said. He asked the hospital administration to put a feedback register in each ward to ensure speedy redressal of patients’ complaints. He also directed to set up an addressing system to ensure critical patients are given proper treatment on time, and that the medicines prescribed by the doctors are in stock all the time. He also asked the Chhattisgarh Medical Council (CGMC) officials to install a cow catcher within the campus. Singh also met a minor rape survivor who was admitted to the hospital last week. He assured the mother of the girl that the district administration will help the family in every possible way. The management informed him that the hospital is providing free treatment to the girl. – TOI
