Rs 3.5 cr sanctioned for disability rehabilitation centre at Aundh Hospital

Pune Zilla Parishad has rewarded Rs 3.5 crore for a district disability rehabilitation center (DDRC) at Aundh general hospital.According to Ayush Prasad, CEO of Pune ZP, the building of this unique center will begin shortly.The center has been constructed in such a way that it would meet the needs of 21 types of disabilities, as per the Rights of Persons With Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016 and the National Building Code, and more than 30,000 people have been supported since 2018 as part of the Pune district collectorate’s initiative, according to Pravin Korgantiwar, district social welfare officer.The facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art specialized therapy and counselling services.The center, which will be constructed over a 400 sq mt area at the Aundh General hospital, will feature physiotherapy, occupational speech, dance, music, dance, sensory integration, aquatherapy, horticultural therapy, and a sensory garden.
