Saudi grant provides medical O2 for public hospitals in Jordan

The Ministry of Health, through a Saudi grant, on Tuesday launched a project to provide medical oxygen for a number of public hospitals to confront the coronavirus pandemic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The launch announcement came during a meeting with Minister of Health Feras Al Hawari, Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef Bin Bandar Al Sudairi, and Director of the Jordan branch of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) Saud Abdulaziz Al Huzaim at the Ministry of Health.

Hawari said that the Saudi grant emphasises Saudi Arabia’s support to Jordanian efforts towards combating the coronavirus pandemic and reflects the depth of historical relations and continuous cooperation between the countries under the two leaderships.

He expressed Jordan’s aspiration to bolster cooperation with Saudi Arabia in various fields, especially pertaining to health.

The Saudi ambassador described the two countries’ relations as “strong and distinguished”, noting that the grant aims to support the Jordanian Ministry of Health and limit the spread of the coronavirus.

He added that the grant, 90 per cent of which was provided to Jordan, comes in implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

The Saudi grant includes medical oxygen, oxygen tanks, and a number of medical devices and oxygen cylinders. Zawya
