SK Roy Civil Hospital, Hailakandi to set up 5 new ICU units

The construction work of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Hailakandi’s SK Roy Civil Hospital has been completed.

Informing this, the district development commissioner, Ranajit Kumar Laskar said that there will be two units in the ICU. There will be a total 15 beds now in the ICU. Of them, 10 will be in the separate COVID-19 ward while five beds will be for general patients.

Hospital sources said that the unit is ready to open. Five more units will come up soon, sources said. It can be mentioned here that the people of Hailakandi are facing extreme difficulties due to the absence of an ICU in the hospital. Serious patients are to be shifted to nearby Silchar Medical College and Hospital during emergency.

After the inauguration of the ICU unit in the hospital, the patients may be admitted in the hospital particularly COVID19 infected patients. The Assam Tribune
