Tamil Nadu govt ropes in 609 hospitals for life-saving scheme

Tamilnadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin announced that about 1.50 lakh road accident victims benefited from the ‘Innuyir Kaapom’ scheme. The scheme was launched by CM Stalin in 2021. The initiative of this scheme is to treat road accident victims for the first 48 hours at the expense of the Tamilnadu Government. This scheme offers nearly 81 recognised live-saving procedures to the victim.

609 hospitals under this scheme:
This scheme includes non-members of CMCHIS, other state victims, and foreign nationals. Any victim is eligible to avail of this scheme without any kind of restrictions. Including Government Hospitals, Government Medical College Hospitals and Private Hospitals, there are 609 Hospitals across the state that have been networked to provide treatment for the first 48 hours for any road accident victims.

The main objective of this scheme is to find accident-prone zones to do necessary precautionary measures, to decrease the traffic fatalities rate, to ensure road safety measures and to set up a ‘Road Safety Authority’, a committee for monitoring road safety. The authority will be comprised of experts from the health, police, transport, highways and municipal administration departments. To make Road Safety a people’s movement, This scheme will bring School, College students, Social workers and volunteers together and will train them to execute the ‘Innuyir Kaapom’ scheme multi-dimensionally.

‘Innuyir Kaapom’ scheme is a success:
The Tamilnadu Government announced this scheme to be a successful one. Nearly 1.50 lakh people benefited from this scheme. CM Stalin tweeted, “The Innuyir Kaapom scheme was launched to provide medicare during the golden hour and save precious human lives. Recently Mr Harikrishnan, the 1,50,000th beneficiary of this Innuyir Kaapom scheme was saved. Many families will be saved under this scheme”.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the ‘Innuyir Kaapom’ emergency care scheme at Melmaruvathur. Chengalpattu MLA Varalakshmi Madhusudhanan said, “The Innuyir kaapom scheme was launched to save people’s lives during the golden hour by providing needed medical treatments. This scheme will save many in the future”.

Treatment without any kind of partiality:
When CM Stalin launched this scheme in 2021 he said, “This scheme aims to reduce deaths due to road accidents. The government’s major objective is to reduce road accidents, prevent fatalities and improve road safety. Road accident victims could be saved if admitted to the hospital immediately without any delay in treatment. Treatments will be provided for the first 48 hours with a ceiling of ₹1 lakh per individual.

Without any partiality, all the government and private hospitals will provide treatment under this scheme. Anyone who admits road accident victims to the nearby hospital within the Golden hour will be rewarded ₹5,000 by the Tamilnadu Government.

Only CM Stalin made this possible:
While speaking on the success of this scheme, MP A. Raja shared, “Whenever an accident happens, the victim will survive if he/she is wealthy enough to afford the medical treatments. But our Chief Minister Stalin made sure that any victim in the land of Tamilnadu should get proper treatment in the golden hour. Whether it is a Government hospital or a private hospital treatment without any partiality should be provided. CM Stalin announced that the state government will bear the expenses.

No other Chief Minister in this country had done this. Only Tamilnadu CM Stalin can launch such a scheme for his people. We, the DMK party, didn’t mention this scheme as an election promise. We fulfilled all the promises mentioned and implemented more than what we promised”. Oneindia
