Turning challenges into opportunities

While COVID-19 has caused an unprecedented disruption in all the sectors, healthcare has borne the major impact of it. The healthcare industry intensely demonstrated its resilience and ability to bring innovations to the market during these tough times. The effects of the pandemic continued to be profound and the healthcare industry evolved immensely due to this by bringing in newer technologies for hospital management. There was an immense learning process through the pandemic, where in we had to ensure safety of both the healthcare warriors and patients. The year 2021 will be a year of re-alignment, renewed hope and courage to convert all the challenges posed into opportunity.

As we step into a new year, we are committed to make this year count for all our stakeholders aiming at a continuum of care. Technology is set to play a bigger role in patient engagement. Virtual healthcare is a domain where we see continued opportunity. Tele-consultancy has surged in popularity as more patients and doctors are opting out of in-person visits. This will continue to rise as the foundation of a robust healthcare strategy, fit for the new normal. Going forward, we will strongly focus on tele-consultancy, and if you see today, every hospital, small or large has started a teleconsultation service. So, as a healthcare organization, we are going to strengthen technology and online consultation services.

In my opinion, the other big shift that we anticipate this year is the focus on efficiency. It is a common sight to see crowded lobbies with patients waiting to consult doctors. Now, due to the pandemic, we are impelled to cut all this out and handle it more smoothly and efficiently. We will increase the efficiency of our staff by providing them with all required assistance, executive coaching and facilitation.

We have 7 centres at present across India and as a part of our expansion strategy over the next two years, we intend to operate around 10 centers in India including Bangalore and in north India which will help in strengthening our brand presence. This year we are planning to open a new centre in Jammu and cater to the patients at that geography by providing the best in-house consultants and staff. We are looking at merger and acquisitions in the mother and childcare segment. Milann strives to excel in terms of various deliverables, catering to people at large with empathy and believes in providing value for money with high-quality patient care.

Our approach will be to concentrate and strengthen home health care services, the offering will benefit a large spectrum of patients at the comfort of their homes. The service will be delivered to patient’s at home which will avoid the hassle of visiting the hospital and get service at their doorstep. We will also be venturing into the comprehensive mother and childcare services segment including delivery and pediatric in addition to IVF in most of our key units. This will help us in providing additional services to our patients. In addition to this, we are keen on developing international markets where there is less penetration of IVF business.

We are almost 90 percent closer to our regular business and confident that we will do well in 2021. We remain committed and will continue building trust and credibility among our target audience, internal and external stakeholders. Maintaining transparency will be one of the strong focuses. I’m confident that we are going to emerge stronger this year and achieve all our goals. The ultimate strategy is to lead Milann to success and be the best fertility, mother and childcare specialist in India. Our intent is to bring in 2021 with renewed hopes and courage to dream big and play a critical role in building a more resilient future together.
