Vizient Launches Next Generation eCommerce Exchange Platform

Vizient announced that it has launched its next generation eCommerce Exchange platform which is integrated with more than 500 of the largest suppliers in healthcare. Through the new intuitive platform, providers will be able to lower their operating costs and streamline operations with suppliers by automating many common supply-chain transactions such as the purchase order, purchase order acknowledgement, and invoices. “This new release marks another milestone in our 20 year history of providing eCommerce services. The enhanced eCommerce Exchange platform is integrated with the Vizient product master and contract catalog and offers users an industry exclusive—real-time price verification of eCommerce transactions,” said Bejan Shamsy, senior vice president procure-to-pay solutions for Vizient. “As provider purchase orders cross our exchange, the price and corresponding supplier acknowledgement price is validated against their current Vizient GPO contract price in real-time, to verify a perfect 3-way price match occurred, and give them confidence they paid the correct price.”

The platform’s new functionality also enables users to customize the tool by uploading local, custom and aggregation contracts. Supply chain leaders no longer need to incur additional expense investing in disparate third party tools that attempt to validate pricing using periodic contract data feeds or static price files. The integrated platform enables:
