Workshop on Role of IT in Healthcare

As the use of information and technology in healthcare is the need of the hour, the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGI and Association for Health Systems Analysis and Strengthening (AHSAS) will be organizing a national workshop on Health Systems Strengthening on Monday. The workshop will continue for five days. Dr Arun K Aggarwal, organizing secretary said the country is passing through a revolution in health sector with massive use of information technology. To discuss the existing status of implementation, a total of 32 resource persons will share the experiences of their respective states and organizations on the use of information technology in health systems.

This includes participation from eminent resource persons from TISS Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and many NGOs from other states. The discussions will include topics such as online patient registration portals, online inventory management, telemedicine, tele-evidence, governance and so on. Senior administrators and bureaucrats will also discuss implementation of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojna. As many as 65 delegates have registered for the workshop comprising of district program officers, various nodal officers, senior program managers, medical officers, senior residents, junior residents eight states of the country. – TOI
