Yumizen H500

HORIBA Medical is a renowned haematology player in the diagnostic industry and offers a wide range of haematology testing solutions with efficient & accurate analysis of infections, anaemia, sepsis, autoimmune deficiencies, and cancers through blood count tests.

CBC analysis is carried out as a part of routine medical assessment to monitor health or diagnose diseases. With increased demand for CBC testing, clinical laboratories are preferring automated, smart and advanced haematology analyzers to ensure accuracy, reliability, performance, and efficiency. Continuous evolutions are being done in the analyzers to improve the turnaround time, sensitivity, specificity, clinical correlation, user interface, and overall quality of reporting in clinical laboratories. Such improvement in haematology analyzers has been possible due to use of high quality and robust flow cytometry techniques which has enabled cell counters to quantify different cell population in their native form thus making a positive impact in accurate diagnosis and initiation of early treatment for the patient.

The new age haematology analyzers are capable enough to differentiate leukocytes into 9 types of subpopulations based on cell volume as well as their size and complexity of the nucleus. Differential analysis of leukocytes in haematology analyzer is an important contribution to clinical practice as it is making easier analysis & differentiation of infection – active & passive, real time clinical condition of patient, degree of severity and hence ensuring highest level of support & care to patient.

HORIBA Medical for entry and mid segment customers has developed unique 9-part hematology analyzer Yumizen H500 with enhanced performance, new features and increased benefits.

The new system is advanced with higher throughput that offers CBC/DIFF parameters, including routine RBC, PLT & WBC counts with extended differential matrix of immature cells population, 37 parameters, AI based dengue and malaria flagging, microcytes (MIC) and macrocytes (MAC). Further, the cell differential matrix is based on the patented HORIBA Double Hydrodynamic Sequential System «DHSS» flow cytometric design.

In addition, this system is designed with an algorithm to report corrected WBC count, which is a significant parameter and often not available in many analyzer. The corrected WBC count gives access to accurate diagnosis like hemolytic anemia, CLL, malaria, and many other haematological diseases. The biggest advantage of  Yumizen H500 is that no extra reagent or specialized reagent is used for auto-correction in total WBC and extended differential count of 9 different types of WBC morphology – NEU, EOS, BAS, LYM, MON, IMG, IML, IMM and ALY. Extended differential matrix giving immature cells population makes reliable cancer care and diagnosis at no additional cost.

Platelet is also a very tricky parameter which often haematology analyzers fail to measure accurately due to existence of various forms of platelets in the sample. The new generation Yumizen H500 has a specialised module to count clinically relevant platelet indices such as the total platelet count, mean platelet volume (MPV), plateletcrit (PCT), platelet distribution width (PDW), platelet large cell count (P-LCC), platelet large cell ratio (P-LCR) which offer valuable information about the morphology and maturity of platelets.

The addition of MIC & MAC parameters in RBC indices helps in classifying types of anemia as it gives percent of MIC and MAC count. As anemia is very common in Indian population, these parameters ensure early diagnosis and monitoring of anemia in individuals. HORIBA has initiated a campaign A2A: An Approach to Anemia with a pledge to bring awareness for an advance and more comprehensive approach towards diagnosing anemia.

Since, quality assurance is very important to ensure operational and functional status of haematology analyzer, Yumizen H500 has been enabled with comprehensive quality management system to improve laboratory quality process. These analysers are provided with separate iQC mode, Levey-Jennings graph, radar graph, XB means. Additionally, there is eQC for testing EQAS samples. In addition, value added tools like quality control program (QCP) and quality slide program (QSP) makes excellent contribution in uplifting quality aspect of overall laboratory operation.

HORIBA Medical believes that the new version of Yumizen H500 would be of great utility in terms of assuring high level patient safety & disease monitoring.
