AIIMS, IIT-D develop AI-based app for children diagnosed with dyslexia

The Department of Paediatrics of All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) Delhi in association with the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Delhi has developed a web application for artificial intelligence (AI) based remedial intervention program for dyslexic children. The in-house website is readable.com.

Dr Shefali Gulati, Professor, department of child neurology said, “This website will help them read, write and learn like normal children. It is also going to help parents of dyslexic children. Once the parents get familiarised with the app or website, they can teach their children to overcome difficulties in reading and writing,” as reported by TOI.

“This app consists of eight modules covering different aspects of learning languages presented in a creative way, which will help children read, write and explain like normal children through artificial intelligence,” she added.

IIT Delhi has contributed to developing the app under the AIIMS and IIT Delhi partnership for developing innovation and rehabilitation-oriented programmes.
