CMC Vellore installs Hyperfine Swoop low-field portable MRI scanner

Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore has purchased a low-field portable MRI scanner which is AI-powered and can be moved from one place to another with the help of a joystick.

“A Hyperfine Swoop Low-Field Portable MRI Scanner was recently purchased, making CMC Vellore the first hospital in the country to have this state-of-the-art AI-powered scanner; the magnetic field of only 0.064 T, making it safer than conventional MRI. Energy-efficient compared to scanners,” posted CM Vellore’s official and can be moved from one facility to another, even near the patient’s bed, using joystick controls, CMC Vellore further said, adding that the scanner is currently being developed for research use in the country.
