Delhi to install telemetry devices in hospitals

The Delhi government has issued an order to install telemetry devices on oxygen tanks of 53 government and private hospitals amid the rising number of Covid cases in the city. This will help in proper functioning and real-time monitoring of oxygen supply in the national capital.

Arvind Kejriwal has decided to install 100 with-remote telemetry devices Liquid Medical Oxygen Storage Tanks with a total capacity of 845.92 MT so that real-time monitoring can become easy.

What are telemetry devices?
Telemeters are the physical devices used in telemetry. It consists of a sensor, a transmission path, and a display, recording, or control device. They are installed in the liquid medical oxygen tanks so that they can be monitored on a real-time basis.

These devices will help in transmitting the current information of the amount of oxygen present in each liquid medical oxygen tank to the war room of the Delhi government.

It will also help the government to find out how much oxygen is left in which hospital so that oxygen can be delivered to that place in time.

Important point to remember

  1. Live monitoring of oxygen levels will be done through the Delhi Government Covid War Room.
  2. Telemetry devices will be installed in the oxygen tanks of 53 big government and private hospitals.
  3. Govt issues an action plan for smooth running and real-time monitoring of oxygen supply.
  4. Real-time oxygen stock monitoring will be done through these telemetry devices installed in tanks It will help in supplying oxygen as per the need and ensure transparency.

Delhi Covid cases rise
Delhi reported 5,481 fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday as the Omicron outbreak grips the capital city. A total of three patients succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll to 25,113.

The case positivity rate of the city touched 8.37%, the highest since May 17 last year when it stood at 8.42%. India Today
