Gujarat Labour Welfare Board Offers Free Primary Medical Services To Factory Workers
AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Labour Welfare Board operates 13 medical vans at present which offer primary medical check-up and services at establishments along the pre-planned route, a statement said.
The services include pathological check-up, malaria testing, diabetes check-up, blood count, among others.
The scheme is estimated to have resulted in savings of more than Rs. 25 crores for the workers.
Building and other construction workers welfare board under the Labour and Employment department operate 34 Dhanvantri Arogya Raths which provide medical check-up to construction labours which got into the semi-final. Over 12 lakhs beneficiary has got the health check done.
The Gujarat Labour Welfare Board had submitted the nomination for its innovative Mobile Medical Van scheme, under which free medical check-up and medical services are provided to workers at their place of work or residence. – India CSR
