Hospital inaugurated at IIT-Hyderabad

A hospital was inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, on Sunday.

Chief guest Dr Gurunath Reddy, founder and chairman of Continental Hospitals, inaugurated the health centre, in the presence of Chairman, BoG, IIT-H, Dr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy and director B.S. Murty. The new facility was set up with the help of JICA.

IIT-H plans to set up a diagnostic facility at the hospital soon.

Thanking Dr Gurunath Reddy, Prof. Murty said, “We will not only collaborate with Continental Hospitals for setting up the basic diagnostic facilities at IIT-H but also plan to have a tele-consulting facility.”

Dr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy said, “At IIT-H, our core competency is technology. It gives me immense pleasure that the institute has partnered with entities like DAV for school education and Continental Hospital for healthcare by utilising their core competency. This conveys the message to our students, faculty and staff that you deliver your best, and the rest will be taken care of.”

“Stress, habits and exercise have a direct impact on one’s health. I appreciate that IIT-H has in-house counsellors to understand the various kinds of stress that students and teachers face, be it emotional, mental or financial. Taking control of stress and habits, and regular exercise are preventive measures. We are here to work with IIT-H for its primary healthcare needs and will do our best to provide world-class secondary care if the need arises,” Dr Gurunath Reddy said. The Hindu
