Manipur CM inaugurates new 300 bedded COVID care centre

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh inaugurated a new 300 bedded COVID Care Centre (CCC) at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre in Imphal West today.

During the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister said that there is evidence of local transmission of COVID-19, however there is no community transmission of the disease in Manipur.

The awareness among the people is very much needed to contain further spread of the diseases and he appealed to the people to come out openly for early treatment instead of concealing their COVID-19 status if tested positive.

Shri Biren also said that the newly inaugurated CCA will be upgraded to a 1000 bedded centre as it has enough space for extension.

Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, 89 people including 5 from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive in Manipur while 29 persons were discharged from hospitals after they were found negative of COVID-19 on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 2920 in Manipur. The number of active cases is 1147 while the recovered cases is 1766.
