Medtronic Reveals 4-Year Partnership With Karl Storz On Robotic Technology Enhancement

After four years of informal partnerships, Medtronic and Karl Storz officially made their partnership public ahead of upcoming regulatory filings.

The companies have worked together to integrate Karl Storz’s 3D vision systems and visualization components into Medtronic’s robotic assisted surgical platform.

As a result of the partnership, Medtronic will include the most recent generation of Karl Storz’s Image1 S 3D platform in its robotic system. Medtronic has developed the robotic platform with input from surgeons around the world.

Medtronic now has 90,000 employees worldwide and serves physicians and has a presence in 150 countries.―Becker’s Spine Review
